SOLID STATE VIBRATOR REPLACEMENT (By Tony Maher)

Solid State Vibrator Board Component Overlay.pdf

Above is a clear picture (downloadable) of the main component layout of the PIC version vibrator replacement board designed and supplied by Tony Maher (R.I.P.)  I highly recommend these items to anyone wanting to improve the performance of their old vibrator powered radio or just to replace the old mechanical unit with something more efficient and reliable.  They will pump the output up by about 20 Volts (on average) as well as killing off the mechanical noise from the vibrator.  They run very cool and so far no faults found, except when someone reversed the polarity to the radio and let the smoke out.

I have also been able to find a way to make these work on positive earth radios, not a two minute fix but certainly possible if you follow a few basic steps.  If you need any more information on this please email me.
